Until tonight, I didn't know there was a place to write a review. I am writing this on our experience that happened around the holidays.
This was our first, and only visit. Our family, 8 of us, waited about 40 minutes for a table. We were seated near the kitchen. Our waitress eventually took our order, and after about another 45 minutes, my daughter-in-law (who had tons of restaurant experience working at one in San Diego) spoke with the female manager on duty. When our meals were brought to us, it was obvious that they had been sitting (cool). The waitress had to ask who had what. Everyone had something different except my one daughter and husband had prime rib, one smaller cut and one larger. She gave my husband my daughter's order. My daughter was upset because he was eating hers, and his order (that she was given) was too big and rare. Also, she had different side choices. I told him he should give her (her order), but he was hungry and kept eating it. He got upset, and got up and physically left. My other daughter had tears in her eyes, and my other daughter (who got the wrong order) asked the waitress to take her prime rib back to be cooked more. THE WAITRESS ASKED IF SHE WANTED HER TO SWITCH THE PLATES, would you believe. My daughter told her she could do that for herself. THIS GIRL SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN WORKING HERE. If she was new to waitressing, she should have jotted down a chart of who had what. It isn't hard. (You draw a rectangle for the table, note the side that is nearer the kitchen, and jot down a clue to who has what on where they are sitting.)
After my husband left, I spoke with the female manager, and told her that their poor service had resulted in a bad experience for us. dThe manager gave us a discount on our meal, and made excuses for her employee. That made me more angry. I would have written in to the owner (who's picture and a story had appeared in the Bay City Times before the restaurant opened) but Lucky's has no company address to contact, just the local Bay City contact. That would have done no good. So, this was our experience, and we have not been back. Just another thing that made it the Christmas from ____.
